RIZE
Rize is a tea growing town to the East of Trabzon, once a part of the Trabizond Kingdom under the rule of Rhizus. Unfortunately not much from its ancient history remains today. It shares the same climate of the Northern Black Sea coast, similar to the lower plains of South America. Green flora covers the land like a rich green quilt. You can visit the Tea Institute - a botanical garden complex acting as a tasting and sales outlet for the masses of tea grown in the region. Rize is also renowned for the beautiful Hemsin valleys (green plains/plateaus in impressively diverse hues) located towards Trabzon and around the Kackar Mountains. It is certain that any trekking set in this scenery will be among the most memorable, for those who make it this far.
