38 km. inland from Antalya, the ancient city of Termessos is located more than a thousand meters above sea level atop a mountain peak. Termessos is famous in history for withstanding Alexander the Great's attack in 4th cc BC. Today the ancient city is still very much intact, with well-preserved buildings and an impressive water storage system to show for itself.
